october 14, 2011 orangewood children’s home today’s been an eventful day. first, i left my phone at home, then i took my physio midterm, which was ok. then i went to immuno, then DL class. and then we went to the U/U office to prep for orangewood, but i ended up getting sent to albertsons to buy supplies and then when i came back, we left and i ended up driving cause my car was parked the closest. we got there, and got lost cause we didn’t know where to turn. when the lesson finally started at 6 pm, we had older boys (preteen) and little little kids (elementary). the older boys were rowdy and obnoxious. the little little kids are so cute. i cannot stand preteen kids. i would much rather teach elementary school. and boys are the worst. there was one little girl and she was adorable! they liked our lesson on the 5 senses, but it was hard to keep all the kids’ attention at once, so we ended up splitting them up into 2 groups. it was exhausting and 2 hours felt like an eternity. sometimes after swim lessons, i feel exhausted too, but this was worse cause my feet hurt from standing the whole time. so there goes my dream of becoming a teacher. there’s no way i could handle that for the rest of my life. especially rowdy boys. eww. and i forgot to eat dinner too, cause i was too busy preparing for orangewood. so when i came home i was so happy that mom saved me some chipotle. how’d she know i was craving chipotle?! mom is the best. well there’s definitely great skills that i learn from being a DL, great life skills. oh yeah, and i saw mrs. martus, my elementary school principal! crazy cool!
