october 25, 2011 (pic is from the casali lab website. do i look good in a lab coat?) in mgmt this week, i learned about motivating employees. it was pretty interesting. i learned that if an employee feels like they are contributing to the overall goal of the organization, and that their job function is significantly valued, they are more motivated to work and be productive. i thought about that randomly as i was leaving research because i am now in charge of culturing the CH12 cells every day when i come in. I felt so important, like my job was crucial to the success of everyone’s experiments because if someone needs CH12 cells, they’d come to me and i would supply them with cells. how cool is that?! but scary too, if i mess up. but i wont, of course. so it was a cool connection b/w classes. or as hailey would say, “totally awesome!”
